ALCON,
The "gist" of the message was about Denzel Washington and his family went on a visit to Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. This is where military burn victims are sent for medical treatment. While Denzel and his family were visiting, the Army officials took them to a "Fisher House" which is like a small hotel on the Army base where family members stay to be with their son/daughter recovering from burns or wounds. These "Fisher House's" are always full and more are needed. Denzel asked the officers how much did it cost to build one and when they told him - he pulled out his checkbook and wrote a check for the full amount to build another "Fisher House" so more families could be with their injured son/daughter.
In this day and age when we read about all the celebrities in the news with all their riches around them and their antics - we hear nothing about what Denzel Washington and his family did for the soldiers.
The Army officials wanted to let as many people know about Denzel's generosity and caring spirit.
